New acquisitions at the Mehoffer House
The stained-glass composition Faith-Hope-Love, a masterpiece of decorative art created by Józef Mehoffer, is a replica, the second copy, of the stained-glass window designed for the Grauers’ sepulchral chapel, made to the artist’s design in 1901.
Two 17th-century Dutch portraits in the NMK collections
Thanks to the financial support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the National Museum in Krakow has acquired two 17th-century Dutch portraits of women for its European art collection displayed at the EUROPEUM.
New contemporary works of art in the NMK collection
Thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage within the programme „Collections” 2015 (Priority - "Regional collections of contemporary art"), the National Museum in Krakow acquired for its collections forty-six outstanding works by such artists as Stanisław Wójtowicz, Barbara Zbrożyna, Lucjan Mianowski, Jarosław Modzelewski, Ignacy Czwartos, Zuzanna Janin.
A cup and a saucer from the legendary set at the NMK
The collection of the National Museum in Krakow has acquired a very rare exhibit – a cup and a saucer from the so-called presidential dinner service made in Ćmielów for the President of the Polish Republic, Professor Ignacy Mościcki.
