Blog: On the rooftop of the National Museum of Krakow
The National Museum in Krakow pays particular attention to its youngest visitors. With children in mind, it publishes museum guides from the series Historie i sztuczki, czyli wprawki z historii sztuki [Stories and Tricks or Exercises in the History of Art], which apart from information also contains puzzles, tasks and crossword related to the topic of each book.
The Library of the National Museum boasts a specialised collection of books on history of art and museology, updated on a current basis. The Main Building also houses an audiovisual room, called U Samuraja [At the Samurai's] since it was created thanks to a grant from the Japanese government. The hall has been fitted with equipment for multimedia presentations and three interpreter's booths. It is used for lectures, conferences and symposia, as well as film screenings, concerts and meetings with artists.
The Museum shop, located in the main hall, remains available for the visitors during the museum opening hours and offers publications on art, postcards, reproductions of works of art and souvenirs.
