In 2020, we celebrate centenary of the birth of Professor Lech Kalinowski (1920-2004), one of the greatest Polish art historians. Professor Kalinowski, who worked at the Jagiellonian University for over half a century, cooperated as well with numerous academic and cultural institutions in Poland and abroad.

The National Museum in Krakow and the Institute of Art History of the Jagiellonian University on the initiative of a group of His students, who were influenced by Him on their professional path, are organising an international conference to commemorate this anniversary. Conference participants will present their papers on subjects that were of particular interest to Professor: Classical Tradition in the Visual Arts, Romanesque Art in Poland, Gothic Pietà Sculptures.
