Opening of the exhibition titled Forever Young! Poland and its Art around 1900 in Vilnius

29 October saw the opening of an exhibition at the Vilnius Picture Gallery, which constitutes a partial transfer of an exhibition organized in 2012 by the National Museum in Krakow under the telling title Forever Young! Poland and its Art around 1900.

On 9 January 2015, the President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski and the First Lady inaugurated the Gallery of Polish Painting prepared by the National Museum in Krakow in the Presidential Palace.

The Sukiennice Gallery - Facilities for disabled

The lift is equipped with Braille buttons and voice control. No doorsteps or barriers. Additional cloakroom for the mobility impaired equipped e.g. with luggage lockers. The restroom is fully adapted to the needs of people with different disabilities. Handles and buttons are easy to use even for those suffering from hand spasticity. The stairs to the restroom are equipped with aluminium ramps so that it is fully accessible.

In the Gallery of Decorative Art at the National Museum in Krakow, which is located in the Main Building (2nd floor) we will find a rich collection of unusual objects from the early Middle Ages to Art Nouveau. This is a selection of several objects that impress with their style, form and precision.

  Gallery of Decorative Art

  The Gallery of Decorative Art at the National Museum in Krakow is the largest permanent exhibition of this type in Poland. The displayed objects are arranged in a chronological order from the Early Middle Ages to the Art Nouveau period. The exhibition, with its stylishly arranged interiors and its collection of gold, fabrics, clothing, furniture, ceramics and glassware, complete with a unique collection of musical instruments and judaica, features nearly 4,000 exhibits presented in nine exhibition rooms and two annexes.
