  Art of Szymon Czechowicz — a Pole whose talent matches that of the best Italian masters of his era — has never been presented in a special, monograph exhibition. A large display of his oeuvre — more than 200 paintings and drawings — makes a unique opportunity to meet grand art of late Baroque.

The Baroque art of the Mining Towns in Central Slovakia

The mining area of central Slovakia, then Lower Hungarian mining towns had paramount importance for the Habsburgs, to whom it had belonged since 1548 and financed their court. At the same time this technically and artistically progressive region represented one of the key artistic centers in the country.

  Maurycy Gottlieb. In search of identity

  Maurycy Gottlieb's life lasted only 23 years - too short to enjoy the same fame as his younger brother Leopold Gottlieb did. And yet, Maurycy Gottlieb is the most important Jewish painter active in the Polish circles of the 19th century. The exhibition in The Szołayski House – Branch of the National Museum in Krakow – presented 46 works by the artist on loan from Polish and foreign institutions. It constituted the artist's symbolic return home.
