The National Museum in Krakow presents in the Józef Czapski Pavilion the early works of the Kapists – members of the group formed in 1923 around Józef Pankiewicz, professor of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. The influence of the French masters Cézanne and Bonnard is clearly visible in them. -

The Prints and Drawings Room of the Czartoryski Museum presents a new set of prints from the collection. This time it is a small exhibition illustrating the formation of Christian monasticism. Within its framework, we present works by artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Jacques Callot, Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Hieronymus Cock, Benedetto Montagna and Herman van Swanevelt. -

The Stanisław Wyspiański Museum, a branch of the National Museum in Krakow, is located in the Old Granary, a building erected in the 18th century, which over the years has served as a granary, factory, shop, and headquarters of the Association of Polish Architects. -

11.05.2025EXHIBITION – VIGNETTES, SIGNETS, AND CARTOUCHES – THE BEAUTY OF ANCIENT BOOKS AND MAPS
The beauty of books is determined by the fonts used, their form, and the initials, which comprise a fundamental aspect of the layout of the text, often enriched with illustrations. The graphic design of both books and maps is enhanced by the addition of many decorative elements such as vignettes, tailpieces, cartouches, decorative borders, dashes and so on, which give a compact block of text or title a feeling of elegance and lightness. The style of these decorations allows for the identification of the period in which a given book or map was created. -

The exhibition “Young Poland”, dedicated to Poland and the development of Polish art in its “golden period“, that is between 1890 and 1918, will be held in Japan in 2025. It will tell a story about Polish history, the prologue to which will be outlined by works by Jan Matejko and Artur Grottger, as well as about Polish art, which at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was not only part of the process of constructing national identity, but also ensured Poland’s presence and successes in the art salons of Europe despite the fact that Poland did not exist on maps of the time. -

13.07.2025Marian Kukiel – a historian, general, director”
This exhibition commemorates the 140th anniversary of the birth of General Marian Kukiel - a legionary, a participant in the Polish-Soviet War of 1920, a military historian, director of the Czartoryski Museum (1930-1939), and Minister of National Defense of the London-based government-in-exile from 1942 to 1949. Kukiel authored works highly regarded by specialists, including Outline of Military History, The War of 1812, and History of Poland during the Partition Period, 1795-1921.
