Restriction of access to the Czartoryski Library’s collections
The National Museum in Krakow received EU funding from the FEnIKS program for the renovation of the Princes Czartoryski Library.
After renovation, the building will be available again in early 2028.
We know that many of you use the rich collection in the Library in your scientific and research work, which is why we try to plan our activities so that the collections can be made available on selected dates. Please submit research projects based on library collections to the head of the Czartoryski Library at bczart@mnk.pl by 17 May 2024.
From 1 June, 2024, until the end of the renovation, the Princes Czartoryski Library building at ul. św. Marka 17 will be out of use.
Access to the collections will take place according to the following schedule:
- from 1 June to 31 December, 2024 - no access to the collections
- from 1 January to 31 March, 2025 - limited access, after prior consultation with the Library

- from 1 April to 31 August, 2025 - no access to the collections
- from 1 September, 2025 to 31 May, 2027 - limited access, after prior consultation with the Library

- from 1 June to 30 September, 2027 - no access to the collections

We can't wait to make the Princes Czartoryski Library available to you after the renovation, and at the same time invite you to events in the new space. We hope that they will make up for the renovation time.

There is a possibility of ordering documents in advance. It is necessary to fill the form, scan it and send to bczart@mnk.pl. Illegible or not signed orders will not be realised. Rewers Biblioteczny
If the object is digitised or available on microfilm it is not possible to order the original. You can find digitised documents available online through the main catalogue and here: digital resources.PHOTOGRAPHS
Readers may take photographs of the objects free of charge using their own equipment (without tripod or flash). The photos may only be used for research purposes.
