  A presentation held at the EUROPEUM – Centre for European Culture shows artworks that, though not created in Europe, were influenced by European art. A cabinet and tsuba sword guards representing the namban art reflect this influence which was typical of this style of Japanese art. It developed at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, and this is the period the objects in the collection of the National Museum in Krakow date back to.

  Franciszek Starowieyski (1930–2009). Virtuoso of the form

  The exhibition of Franciszek Starowieyski’s movie posters was a recollection of the works of the artist, who died four years ago (in 2010) and used to be one of the most popular Polish painters. He was well known due to his peculiar artistic style, charm and the way he could easily establish contact with the audience. He was a member of the Polish School of Posters, whose works were presented by the MoMA during a dedicated exhibition.

  Andrzej Strumiłło

  As part of the ‘Living Gallery’ cycle, the National Museum in Cracow (MNK) presented an exhibition of paintings, sculptures and drawings by Andrzej Strumiłło. This versatile artist is a painter, graphic artist, sculptor, photographer, book illustrator, set designer, author of books about nature and culture, poet and traveller.

  Matta. Man and Universe

  In the Main Building of the National Museum in Krakow we've shown paintings of one of the most important artists of the 20th century, the last of the great surrealists, the artist who influenced not only American abstract expressionism, but also postwar art in Poland.

  Witold-K. Exhibition of the works donated by the family

  As part of the cycle „Collection +”, the National Museum in Krakow presented, in the Gallery of 20th Century Art, in the Main Hall, several dozen works of Witold-K. This is a gift to the Museum from the artist's family – Laurie Kaczanowska and Wit Thomas Kaczanowski. The exhibition was enriched with selected works from the artist's collection and the portrait of Witold-K made by Pablo Picasso.

  Antonisz: Technology for Me Is a Form of Art

  This exhibition of the work of Julian Antoniszczak (Antonisz), prepared by the National Museum in Kracow and the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, was the first comprehensive presentation of its kind, covering all areas of the work of Julian Joseph Antoniszczak (Antonisz) — co-founder of the legendary Studio of Animated Films in Cracow, experimental animator, designer, musician and inventor.

  Edward Dwurnik. Madness!

  This exhibition of works by Edward Dwurnik in the National Museum in Kraków included more than 100 paintings and drawings by the artist, including several cycles of his paintings from the late 1960s to the first decades of the 21st century, depicting such themes as Athletes, Workers, Warsaw, Hitchhiking trips, Passion, and The cross. An important part of this exhibition comprises rarely-exhibited drawings and collages created by Dwurnik to parallel his paintings (the cycles "Wall", "One day", "My heroes", "In the shadow of the building", "Workers").
