We are presenting to you the archival photographic documentation from the 1930s, which was when the first construction works on the new building of the National Museum in Krakow began.
The edifice, designed by Bolesław Szmidt, Czesław Boratyński and Edward Kreisler, was built intermittently from 1934 to 1989. Its erection was a major construction and financial undertaking of the Krakow municipality, assisted by ordinary citizens, artists, and numerous organisations.
