Icon painting presentation
While visiting our exhibition titled 'Maria Mater Misericordiae', visitors will have a chance to see a live presentation of how icons are made and learn about traditional techniques used in icon painting to this day.
The presentation will concern the Novgorod icon of the Virgin Mary Eleusa from the Museum in Vicenza.
Entry with a valid exhibition ticket.
Led by: Anna Crisanti – a visual artist who has been involved in painting icons for over twenty years. She graduated from the icon painting school at Centro Studi Russia Cristiana in Italy. Her master – father Egon Sendler – was one of the most outstanding contemporary icon painters. For the last few years, she has been teaching icon painting courses in the National Museum in Krakow and in other icon painting centres in Poland and Italy.
