This selection of Christmas carols arranged by Maciej Małecki enjoys great popularity. Up until now, the Christmas carol concert has been performed twice by the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin, the Polish Radio Choir in Krakow, and a year later by the Choir of the Władysław Żeleński State Secondary Music School in Krakow, and twice with the Fresco Sonare Chamber Orchestra. The concert of Christmas carols was recorded by the Polish Chamber Choir (Schola Cantorum Gedanensis) and the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra (Sopot) conducted by Jan Łukaszewski, and published by the German company Carus-Verlag Stuttgart in 2008.
Maciej Małecki is an outstanding composer, pianist, and a teacher. Composer of instrumental, orchestral, popular, theatre, radio, television and film (Szaleństwa Majki Skowron, Znak orła, Jabłka) music, winner of numerous Polish awards for his work as a composer. Member of the elite group of Polish composers including Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar and Krzesimir Dębski. Continues to compose on commission from the largest Polish institutions: the National Theatre in Warsaw, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Polish Radio Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and numerous ensembles and soloists who gladly include his compositions in their repertoire.
