GENERAL GUIDELINES
"General Guidelines" is a kind of guide for those preparing accessibility programs in an institution. It discusses issues such as transition planning, team preparation, supporting visitors in preparing for their visit, creating services dedicated to people on the autism spectrum, assessment and evaluation.
There are many examples of successful programs to learn from, but there is no template for success (...). The key is to listen to the audience of our efforts and to have the trust and support of key people in the organization. - comments Paul Swift of Outside in Pathways (UK) a member of the Spectrum project team.

CHECKLIST
The checklist is a tool to help verify an institution's level of accessibility to people on the autism spectrum. It covers six areas: strategy and planning, employee training, supporting visitors in preparing for a visit, changes and amenities in the museum setting, creating an offer for neurodiverse people, and evaluation of activities. It encourages to set specific goals: what steps are we going to take in the future, which areas we treat as a priority and which solutions are used in a specific institution. Alexander Vander Stichele (FARO, Belgium) talks about how not to get overwhelmed by the length of the list.Download

EDUTOOL
The Educational Toolkit, which realization was coordinated by Antonella Poce, is a tool developed from the perspective of the research of project participants from Roma Tre University. It is an open toolkit resource for anyone interested in museum and cultural heritage education. Essential focuses on the selection and use of learning methodology and techniques for people with ASD. It talks about creative work methods, digital storytelling and learning tools, learning by exploring objects (object-based learning), and music in museums and exhibitions. The toolkit contains seven case studies from countries participating in the project. As with other documents in the Spektrum product suite, a very important part of the process is monitoring needs, reviewing progress, and evaluating next steps. The selected tools were designed with varying degrees of complexity. Thanks to ongoing evaluation, museum employees and employees can make choices most suited to the actual educational context and needs.Download
