Detailed description: the design is in the form of a small three-dimensional flower. It is composed of five petals in the shape of pointed ovals. The petals overlap in layers, tapering to the neck. The model consists only of the flower, it has no stem or leaves. The paper used to make the daffodil is matte, smooth and uniformly yellow.
The paper daffodil designed by Helena Czernek is a symbol of the “Daffodils” campaign, organized by the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews since 2013. The flower refers to the gesture made by Marek Edelman, the last leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, who every April 19 placed a bouquet of yellow daffodils at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes. The daffodil has become a universal symbol of remembrance of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and of solidarity and respect for its participants
The daffodil is not only an expression of tribute, but also a form of education - distributed during anniversary celebrations, it reminds us of history.
