Detailed description: the logotype consists only - the name “solpol” located on a white background. The name is written in small, thick letters. The letters have a black outline and white filling. The edges are rounded, resembling the shape of children's balloons. The lower edges are elongated and thickened. They taper to the center, creating a shadow. It gives the graphic a three-dimensionality. Only two colors were used for the graphic - black and white. The simplicity of colors and shapes gives the composition a modern character.
The Solpol department store trademark is part of its recognizable postmodern identity. Solpol, built in Wroclaw in the 1990s, was one of the most controversial buildings of its time. Its colorful facade and variety of shapes attracted attention and divided public opinion - from admiration for its design boldness to criticism for its heterogeneous form and lack of coherence with its surroundings.
The logotype, like the building's architecture itself, is an expression of the spirit of the 1990s - a time of political transformation, an explosion of new trends in graphic design and a fascination with modernity. The form of the logotype is a typical example of the postmodern style, combining humor, simplicity and playfulness with shapes, which aimed to create the image of a brand that is approachable, modern and open to change.
Today, the logo and the Solpol building itself are a symbol of that era, reminding us of the times of transformation and the first attempts to introduce modern aesthetics into urban space in Poland.
