Original compositions (including premieres), jazz standards and arrangements inspired by the legacy of Barry Harris – a legend of jazz piano and style.
Tomasz Białowolski (b. 1990) is a jazz pianist, accompanist, and educator. He studied at the Henryk Majewski Post-Secondary Jazz School in Warsaw and at the Academy of Music in Kraków (jazz piano). He leads the Tomasz Białowolski Trio (with Wojciech Szwugier – double bass, and Michał Heller – drums) and performs in a duo with vocalist Judyta Pisarczyk. A former member of ensembles such as New Brand Quintet and Arek Skolik Quartet, he co-created the project To Muniak With Love and recorded Pick Yourself Up (2020).
He accompanies vocalists during the International Summer Jazz Academy in Kraków and teaches at the Bronisław Rutkowski Secondary Music School, where he co-founded and currently leads the jazz department.
A devoted disciple of Barry Harris’s harmonic concepts, he regularly attended Harris’s workshops in Italy and created the video series Harmonic Concepts According to Barry Harris, as well as a master’s thesis on the subject. He has also composed music for theatrical productions.
