The purchase of modern equipment and the implementation of advanced technologies for research and the conservation of the collections of the National Museum in Kraków

The National Museum in Kraków is carrying out a project entitled ‘Procurement of modern equipment and implementation of advanced technologies for the research and conservation of the National Museum in Kraków’s collections’.

As part of this project, specialist equipment has been purchased for the museum’s Laboratory for Analysis and Non-Destructive Testing of Historic Objects (LANBOZ), which is essential for the effective and safe examination of the National Museum in Kraków’s collections. The equipment purchased includes: a portable scanning electron microscope, an infrared spectrometer and a direct digital radiography kit.

The new equipment enables the carrying out of precise, non-destructive technological analyses and the creation of the highest-quality visual documentation, which is crucial for scientific, conservation, exhibition and educational processes. The purchase of this modern equipment will strengthen the role of the National Museum in Kraków as a leading centre for modern scientific research into cultural heritage.

Funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
