The first workshop for teachers as part of the Museum: Present and Useful project has now taken place. TereNOWA Art made its way to Jaroszówka, to the Kornel Makuszyński Primary School. This is the first of 26 schools to have responded to the call for applications for mobile museum training sessions. There is something calming about the landscape of Jaroszówka – especially on a rainy, misty day. And apple trees bearing delicious little apples. Thank you for your hospitality!
As part of the training, together with a group of 17 teachers, we worked on incorporating art into the curriculum of various school subjects, seeking inspiration in it to experiment, ask questions and search for answers together. In the post-workshop surveys, our facilitators received nothing but top marks. In the coming weeks, the project team will be visiting Cześniki, Dobrociesz, Zawichost and Łąka Prudnicka.
An educational project by the National Museum in Kraków seeks answers to social challenges. How can we support young people using museum education tools? Drawing on the collection of Poland’s largest and oldest museum, we are increasing access to high art for groups with limited opportunities to participate in cultural life. The project comprises initiatives that enhance the wellbeing and sense of agency of children and young people.
