Self-Portrait with a Palette brought the painter success, earning a silver medal at the Paris Salon. It is one of the few depictions of Polish female artists from the late 19th century. Painted in 1887, the work brought her international fame and was frequently reviewed in the international press. It was exhibited multiple times, including at the Royal Academy in London and the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris, before being donated to the National Museum in Kraków. The self-portrait represents Polish Realism and is displayed in the Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art in the Sukiennice.
