  A Display of Rembrandt van Rijn's Work

  From 23 July, visitors to the Princes Czartoryski Arsenal Museum have the opportunity to see 'Landscape with the Good Samaritan' by a renowned Dutch artist – Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606–1669). The display heralds the exhibition, scheduled for next year, which will present selected collections of the Princes Czartoryski Museum, currently under reconstruction.

  Maria Mater Misericordiae

  Organized as part of the World Youth Days Krakow 2016 and the Jubilee of Mercy celebrated at the same time in the Catholic Church, the exhibition presents nearly 100 works, mainly from Italian collections, whose leading theme is Mary the Mother of Mercy. It features works by prominent Italian, French, Dutch and German artists such as Donatello, Mantegna, who were active from the 14th to the 18th century.

  Art of the Polish Legions

  On 18 March 1916 the first great Polish exhibition of legionary art, organized by Jerzy Mycielski, was opened in the rooms of the Krakow Society of Friends of Fine Arts. More than 500 works by artists serving in the Polish Legions and those supporting the Legions’ Cause with their art were shown. Originally scheduled to last a month, the exhibition was such a great success that it was extended until the middle of May 1916.

  Collection – Evolution

  Evolution (Latin evolutio – unfolding, unrolling) refers to a slow, irreversible and directional process of development leading to greater diversity, complexity and perfection. This phenomenon can be observed not only in the world of live creatures. Collections (Latin colligere – gather into a whole), in particular museum collections, undergo a similar process. It is because unlike private collection they are characterised by the irreversibility and unidirectionality of the movement of objects making them up.

  Don't Dream about Love, Kuryluk

  Don't Dream about Love, Kuryluk is a retrospective exhibition of paintings by Ewa Kuryluk, a painter, installation artist, art historian and writer. The show features over 50 paintings from the collections of the National Museum in Krakow, the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Wrocław and Museum of Art in Łódź, as well as important works from the artist's own collection to be presented in Poland for the first time.

  Ottomania. The Ottoman Orient in Renaissance Art

  Dürer, Memling, Bellini, Tintoretto, Veronese. Works of these outstanding artists, who enjoyed great popularity with the audience, can be admired in Krakow until 27 September 2015 thanks to a unique exhibition titled Ottomania. The Ottoman Orient in the Art of Renaissance, prepared by the National Museum in Krakow in collaboration with Palais des Beaux-Arts (BOZAR) in Brussels. The exhibition is part of a large international project titled “Ottomans & Europeans: Reflecting on five centuries of cultural relations”.

  In the Realm of the Dragon. Chinese Art in the Collections of the National Museum in Krakow

  Maurycy Gottlieb. In search of identity

  Maurycy Gottlieb's life lasted only 23 years - too short to enjoy the same fame as his younger brother Leopold Gottlieb did. And yet, Maurycy Gottlieb is the most important Jewish painter active in the Polish circles of the 19th century. The exhibition in The Szołayski House – Branch of the National Museum in Krakow – presented 46 works by the artist on loan from Polish and foreign institutions. It constituted the artist's symbolic return home.

  POLISH PAINTING FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE NMK ON DISPLAY IN THE PRESIDENTIAL

  The Gallery of Polish Painting in the Presidential Palace, prepared by the National Museum in Krakow and opened on 9 January 2015 by the President of the Republic of Poland and the First Lady, presents the works of over twenty most prominent Polish painters such as Józef Chełmoński, Aleksander Gierymski, Stanisław Witkiewicz, Józef Czapski and Stanisław Wyspiański.
