When visiting the MNK Main Building (3 Maja Avenue 1), you can use the drinking fountain – a device providing easy, quick and safe access to drinking water from the mains supply. If you bring your own bottle, flask or cup, you can fill it up for free.
We warmly encourage you to use the tap water! It’s a hygienic, economical and healthy solution – we’re delighted to be able to make things easier for you.
The tap in the MNK Main Building has been tested and meets usage standards. The installation of the device was made possible thanks to the Museum’s participation in the Kraków Waterworks programme Good water straight from the tap in your office. This is a form of cooperation in which the cost of the device and installation is borne by Kraków Waterworks, whilst the institution covers the cost of adapting the internal plumbing.
The inspiration to join the programme came from suggestions made by Museum visitors and people following the MNK’s activities online. The opportunity arose during the refurbishment of a toilet accessible to wheelchair users, carried out as part of the MNK’s efforts to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
You will find the water dispenser in the MNK Main Building on the ground floor by the café; to the right of the entrance. It is accessible by wheelchair lift, and there is an accessible toilet nearby.
We invite you to visit, whilst reminding you that drinks – even the finest tap water! – must be left in the cloakroom before entering the exhibition. It is prohibited to bring in or consume food and drink in the galleries of the National Museum.
