It is with great sorrow that the Director of the National Museum in Krakow announces the passing of Professor Zdzislaw Żygulski (b. August 18, 1921), who died in Krakow in the morning of 14 May 2015.
He was a long-time employee of our Museum, an outstanding Polish art historian, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, an English teacher and a weapons expert.
He was a founding member and long-standing chairman of the the Association of Old Arms and Uniforms Amateurs at the National Museum in Krakow. In the years 1975-81, he served as the president of the International Association of Museums of Arms and Military History (IAMAM). He also lectured at American universities in New York and Storrs.
The funeral of professor Z. Żygulski will be held on Tuesday, 19 May at 12.00 p.m. at the Salwator cemetery in Krakow.
