The day of free admission to permanent exhibitions at the NMK is Tuesday.

The museum is closed on Mondays.

Dear visitors,

until the 15th of May (excluding weekends and the 1st  of May) in one of the rooms of the permanent exhibition XX + XXI Polish Art Gallery in the Main Building, preparatory work will continue for the upcoming display Mehoffer from Fribourg. Cathedral Stained Glass Designs. As a result, sounds of construction work may reach you at the Gallery, especially near the room where the work is in progress. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

The show Mehoffer from Fribourg. Cathedral Stained Glass Designs will be available to you starting May 16th as part of your ticket to the XX + XXI Polish Art Gallery.

The donations received by the Museum consisted not only of individual works, but also of entire collections of numerous items. In order to recall its generous benefactors, the Museum arranges temporary displays, for example an exhibition dedicated to Feliks 'Manggha' Jasieński, or one titled The Janina and Józef Haubenstock Memorial Collection. Bequest for the National Museum in Krakow, 1995–2001, and Memoriae donatorum. Tribute of the Numismatics Room at the National Museum in Krakow to Its Donators, which offered a display of Polish and antique coins that are normally accessible to researchers only.

The Museum does not display solely its own collections. Numerous Colourist works representing École de Paris were presented at an exhibition The Colours Of Identity. Polish Art From Tom Podl’s American Collection by courtesy of their owner Tom Podl, an American collector of Polish descent. Objects displayed at Alina and Vanni Scheiwiller: A Collection Of Contemporary Krakow Prints arrived from Italy.
Temporary exhibitions allow visitors to enjoy the impressive collections of decorative arts, normally only partially displayed. Such exhibitions included e.g. Ethereal Beauty. Fans of the Occident and Orient in the Collection of the National Museum in Krakow and Following Fashion Trough the Ages. Garments from the Collections of the National Museum in Krakow. Works from Poland and abroad could be admired at the exhibition The World of Silver. Augsburg Goldsmithery from the 16th to the 19th Century In the Polish Collection”s.

The Museum attaches great importance to publications. It publishes catalogues of museum collections and exhibitions, museum guides, albums and periodical publications: Rozprawy Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie. Seria Nowa [Dissertations of the National Museum in Krakow. A New Series], Sprawozdania Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie. Seria Nowa [National Museum in Krakow Reports. A new series], Notae Numismaticae.
