Colour and shine
Architectural ceramics and mosaics in Krakow and the Małopolska region after 1945.
The monograph presents the mosaics and ornaments found in 32 localities in Małopolska, created in the years 1950-1993 using ceramics, glass and experimental materials.
Divided into several parts, the publication constitutes both a guide to the described places and their history, and an album presenting the decorative qualities of mosaics and ceramics and featuring their documentation. It is also a scientific study which systematizes and broadens the knowledge of post-war art in the architecture of our region.
The book was also intended to voice an opinion in the discussion on the role and value of this type of works of art and the need to protect them. It is therefore addressed to a wide range of readers. It will most certainly be of interest not only to those specializing in history of art and architecture, and conservation staff, but also to the residents of the described localities, local authorities and tourists, as well as to a growing number of ceramics and mosaic enthusiasts.
