FASHIONable in Communist Poland
The catalogue accompanying the exhibition FASHIONable in Communist Poland talks about the unique character of fashion in the successive post-war decades – from the end of World War II to the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.
The publication presents institutions devoted to fashion – Moda Polska, Telimena and others; magazines reviewing or promoting fashionable trends, spearheaded by Przekrój; as well as creations of famous designers such as Barbara Hoff, Grażyna Hasse and Jerzy Antkowiak.
The catalogue is published in the form of a fashion magazine, which is particularly attractive due to the accompanying photographs of the most interesting creations in Sara Damm's present-day styling, taken by the NMK Photography Studio under the supervision of Jacek Świderski.
