100 rarities from the military collection of the National Museum in Krakow
This beautifully published album presents the most precious and interesting exhibits from the outstanding military collection of the National Museum in Krakow, including unique objects which constitute both a testimony to Polish history and works of artistic craftsmanship.
Weapons in an art museum? Although it seems unlikely, the National Museum in Krakow boasts one of Poland's largest collections of ancient arms. Hussar armours, swords, rapiers, antique firearms, uniforms, and above all – memorabilia belonging to numerous personages well-known from Polish and world history, which still guard various secrets – have always been an important part of the collection of the Krakow's Museum.
Beautifully published and illustrated with exquisite full-page photographs, the album is the first such publication describing this important collection. The superb photographs are accompanied by texts that use their unimpeded narrative to guide the reader through this world of old arms and uniforms, which is so unique and full of surprises.
