The Wi\u015bnicz Castle depicted in the background is intended to emphasise the sitter\u2019s connection with Wi\u015bnicz, where the Serafi\u0144ski family had their summer residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The painting was created in Jan Matejko\u2019s home studio, as recalled in the memoirs of Stanis\u0142awa Serafi\u0144ska herself, who is portrayed in the painting.
