Diego Santamaria)<\/p>\n<p>Czarakcziew\/Kowal Duo, affiliated with the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krak\u00f3w, is dedicated to discovering outstanding but lesser-known 20th- and 21st-century music. Both artists are laureates of international cello and piano competitions and maintain active solo and chamber music careers in Poland and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>They began collaborating in 2020, performing Beethoven\u2019s complete cello sonatas at the\u00a0Days of Music\u00a0festival celebrating the 200th anniversary of the composer\u2019s death. Since then, their repertoire has expanded with a focus on contemporary chamber music.<\/p>\n<p>Their debut album\u00a0Bruzdowicz: Works for Piano and Cello\u00a0(DUX, 2023) received a Silver Diploma at the 3rd International \u201cMusic Eagles\u201d Competition. They presented Joanna Bruzdowicz\u2019s works in Poland and during a U.S. tour, where they also performed\u00a0The Song of Hope and Love\u00a0and pieces by jazz-influenced American composer Frederick Katz \u2013 the subject of Czarakcziew\u2019s Fulbright research in Los Angeles. Their second album,\u00a0Aurora.
