It is a barbarian imitation of a Roman coin of Maximian Herculius, originally minted in Cyzicus or Antioch between 290 and 293. The obverse closely follows the original Roman coin. The reverse, which has no direct parallel in ancient coinage, appears to be a composition inspired by various Roman coins. The coin was probably produced within the sphere of the Chernyakhiv culture and later brought to the Kuyavia region. It functioned as a pendant, intended to display the portrait of the Roman emperor.
