The coin was discovered in 2021 during methodical field prospection with the use of a metal-detector in the village of Charbinowice (Kazimierza Wielka County, \u015awi\u0119tokrzyskie Voivodeship). The prospection in Charbinowice was part of a larger micro-regional project, the objective of which was the research of Pre-Roman and Roman period sites. The discovery can be linked to the numerous finds from phase A3 of the Pre-Roman period present on the site.
