A die study with an emphasis on the analysis of iconography, conducted on a corpus consisting of twenty-nine specimens, allows three typologically distinct stages to be distinguished in the development of the series. The identification of prototypes employed at each stage enables the origins of all discussed types to be reconstructed and provides a new <em>terminus post quem <\/em>for the series.
